Target Population

Current beneficiaries of the Health Advantage program are its 30,000+ active members. Potential beneficiaries include the remaining low-income, uninsured residents of Marion County (about 40,000 adults). Health Advantage directly benefits the group commonly referred to as "the working poor"--individuals who fall within the gap that exists between government-assisted health coverage (i.e. Medicaid) and employer-sponsored insurance.

The Health Advantage program is open to Marion County residents that fall at or below 200% of the federal poverty level, and do not qualify for any other assistance program. Advantage provides health care coverage for the parents of Medicaid and Children's Health Insurance Program (CHIP) recipients, as well as other low-income and uninsured populations.
