MINIMUM STARTING PAY: $13.13
The dental assistant position requires certification in dental assisting. The position requires full attention to job duties for the proper and safe care of patients and successful completion of assigned tasks for the operations of the dental clinic. The dental assistant is responsible for assisting the dentist or hygienist; taking of radiographs; friendly customer service; and sterilization and maintenance of dental instruments, equipment and units. Additional responsibilities may include front office tasks, scheduling appointments, insurance processing, computer entry and any other functions necessary for the efficient operation of a dental clinic. Compliance with quality assurance/improvement requirements in accordance with the Marion County Public Health Department; the ADA; OSHA; the CDC and State of Indiana guidelines, regulations or statutes is also required. Candidates should have documentation of dental assisting and X-ray certification with the State of Indiana (must be current and maintained at all times) and three months to one year of previous experience. Documentation of expanded functions is required if functioning as an Expanded Functions Dental Assistant.
