The EHS will be responsible for enforcing public safety codes in Marion County specifically with regards to lead-based paint hazards. The EHS must hold an Indiana Lead Inspector and Risk Assessor license or obtain one within six months of hire. This position will conduct lead inspections and risk assessments housing units as a pre-qualification tool for the grant program, provide a written report detailing the findings of such inspection and suggest corrective action where warranted, monitoring work done on the units, and conducting clearance examinations. As part of the grant Program, the EHS will conduct environmental assessments, issue repair orders, manage enforcement if repair orders are not followed, and provide community outreach and educational services for community and faith-based organizations. The EHS will also assist the Community Enrollment Liaison in conducting healthy homes assessments on homes under consideration for enrollment in the grant program. Qualified candidates should have a Bachelor's degree with a concentration in Environmental Health, Public Health or closely related area preferred. Minimum of two years of professional experience in department related code enforcement activities, or qualifying experience. Valid Indiana Drivers License and use of personal vehicle required.
