Parenting Support/Education Group

Raising children today is very serious business. There is no task more important nor are there many tasks more difficult. Since children do not come into this world with a detailed instruction manual, Legacy House provides guidance and support for those parents who recognize the importance of proper and deliberate parenting.

Unlike other parenting classes, in addition to covering general parenting issues, this professionally facilitated group discusses ways of parenting children who have been exposed to or victimized by violence. Such children often will develop emotional issues resulting in certain acting out behaviors that call for certain types of interventions. Along with learning the "how to's" of parenting, this group provides a safe atmosphere for open and honest sharing of concerns and issues. Support is available from parents with similar challenges.
